Booked for afternoon tea as my husband had recovered a voucher. Emailed to enquire about times and dealt with Vicky the events executive, who was helpful and organised the booking, took details of our voucher and asked about allergies When we arrived, we were seated and our name taken. The waitress then came back 5 minutes later to say no record of our booking (no idea why after several emails to book) but the chef would make it up and it would take about 10 minutes Just over 45 minutes after we were seated it arrived. Sandwiches nice, usual filings of egg, cheese, ham and tuna - nothing overly special. Nice little small scone. Cakes very disappointing - 3 tarts with different filing all with very thick sodgy pastry and 1 tiny coffee sponge. Have had several afternoon teas at different places with lovely selection of cakes, so this was quite a let down. Only good things - young girl waitress was lovely, very polite, very nice setting and grounds and we didn't have to pay as had a voucher!

The staff were welcoming. The food was lovely. Our room was lovely and clean the only downside is that we could hear the deliveries at 6.30am on Sunday morning too loud to get back to sleep. we had our windows closed!

The hotel was very busy. Our room was on the fourth floor (although it is labelled ‘3’, because there are two floor 1!) and there is no lift. On our second night, having booked our evening meal for 7 pm on check-in, the dining room was overbooked and we had to wait until gone 8 pm. The service in the dining room from the young staff on duty was exceptional, considering the pressure they were under. However, we continued to experience long delays with service, not their fault, they and the kitchen were just very busy.

Regular guest at this lovely hotel which is in a beautiful location. Another great stay, lovely top floor room with lots of extras and great view. Excellent restaurant with good dinner and breakfast choices and friendly service. Recommend and will be back again.
